BOAT
The lake is calling! Bring your boat or motorized watercraft down for the day, week, or season, and enjoy everything the sparkling cool waters can offer. PADDLE
Travel at your own pace – leave your motor at the beach and set off on a relaxing paddleboard, kayak or canoe excursion. Out here there’s no reason to hurry, so take the time to take in the view. With nearly 70km of lake to explore on the Canadian side alone, Lake Koocanusa has enough adventure to last a hundred summers – or more.
SWIM
The water looks so inviting…go ahead, dive on in! There’s nothing so refreshing as a summer swim in a freshwater lake, and Lake Koocanusa is no exception. The lake’s depth ranges from a few centimetres near the sandy shoreline to over a hundred meters on the US side, and it’s all only minutes away from your relaxing resort property at Madera Ranch.
FISH
A day on the lake is fun, but the real catch is beneath the surface. Our waters are teeming with Rainbow Trout, Kokanee, and many other species of fish, and the size of the lake means there’s plenty of space for everyone. Don’t forget your camera – you’ll want to capture the excitement!
BEACH
With all of this water, are you ready to dry out for a bit? Relax on the warm sandy beach and let the sun’s rays soak in while you enjoy a clear view of your little ones splashing in the water nearby. Maybe you’ll even finish reading that book! And don’t forget your hat and sunscreen!

Put the boat away and go sledding! Madera Ranch is close to year-round snowmobile adventure in the Lake Koocanusa area, which means there are endless new trails to explore. The best part is, with every new snowfall, the trails will feel different every time!
